1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through the Energy Hunters website, our EV charging stations and charging-session and payment pages, our contact, partnership, and newsletter forms, user accounts, customer support, and our site partnership and renewable energy consulting activities (collectively, the “Services”).

Where we perform services for a business client under a written agreement, that agreement and the client’s own privacy notice may also apply.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Newsletter informationThe email address you provide to receive updates.
Device and technical informationIP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, timestamps, server logs, security events, and cookies.
Location informationThe location of the charging station you use. We do not collect your device’s precise GPS location through our website.
CommunicationsEmails, support requests, feedback, and records of our correspondence with you.

3. Sources of Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you, for example when you submit a form, create an account, start a charging session, make a payment, or contact us;
  • automatically from your browser or device, and from our charging stations and systems;
  • from our charging-software and payment platform provider, and from payment processors;
  • from site partners and business clients we work with; and
  • from publicly available or business sources, such as professional networking sites, where permitted by law.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain our charging stations, website, and other Services;
  • start, manage, and complete charging sessions and process payments and refunds;
  • respond to your inquiries and support requests;
  • evaluate sites and potential site partnerships, and deliver development and consulting services;
  • create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
  • send newsletters and updates you have requested;
  • monitor, troubleshoot, and improve our chargers, website, and Services;
  • detect and prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations; and
  • protect the rights, safety, and property of Energy Hunters, our site partners, users, and others.

5. Payment Information

Payments for charging sessions are handled through our charging and payment platform provider and third-party payment processors, which may include dLocal Go or other payment service providers.

Full payment card numbers and security codes are collected and processed directly by the payment processor and are not stored by Energy Hunters. We receive transaction details, such as the amount, status, processor reference, and card type and last four digits, for billing, reconciliation, refunds, support, fraud prevention, and recordkeeping. Payment processors handle your information under their own privacy policies.

6. Cookies and Third-Party Content

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for it to work, such as security (CSRF protection) and session cookies for signed-in users. We may also use cookies to remember preferences and understand how the website is used.

Some pages load content from third parties, such as an embedded YouTube video, web fonts, and page styling and script libraries delivered from content delivery networks. When your browser loads that content, those providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website, such as forms or sign-in, from working correctly.

  • Service providers: website and cloud hosting, email delivery (such as Amazon Web Services), IT, security, and professional service providers who act on our behalf.
  • Charging and payment providers: our charging-software and payment platform provider, payment processors, and financial institutions, to operate charging sessions and process payments and refunds.
  • Site partners: property owners and host sites where a charger is located, limited to information needed to operate the site, such as usage and session records.
  • Advisors: lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers.
  • Authorities: government agencies, courts, or law enforcement where required by law, or where needed to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: parties to a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

8. Where Information Is Processed

Energy Hunters is based in the United States, and our Services are operated from the United States. Personal information is stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including completing transactions, providing support, maintaining partnership and business records, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or securely archive it as required by law.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, password hashing, and limiting access to people who need it. No internet-connected system is completely secure. Please protect your account credentials and tell us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.

  • Marketing emails: you can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time using the link in the email, or by contacting us.
  • Cookies: you can manage cookies through your browser settings.
  • Forms: providing information through our forms is voluntary, but we may not be able to respond to an inquiry without it.

Depending on where you live, including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and other U.S. state privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • confirm whether we process your personal information and access it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format; and
  • opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling, where applicable. We do not sell personal information.

To make a request, email info@energy-hunters.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity before completing the request and respond within the time required by applicable law. Where the law allows, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.” We will respond to your appeal within the time required by law. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state Attorney General. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Payment and account features are intended for adults.

14. Third-Party Links

Our website links to third-party sites, such as Amazon for book purchases and Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please review their privacy policies before you give them your information.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
